Sports Health Science

Sport health scientists and exercise physiologists study physiological responses to exercise and the impact of movement - from elite athletes to individuals struggling with chronic conditions or disability, children and the elderly.

Emerging from the umbrella of sports medicine, sport science has grown into a multidisciplinary profession that includes exercise physiologists, cardiopulmonary specialists, athletic trainers, physical therapists, nutritionists, coaches, personal trainers and researchers. As primary care physicians increasingly prescribe exercise as a form of treatment, rehabilitation and even injury and disease prevention, sport scientists have become integral members of the health care team.

Our Center and personal trainers and coaches, can help devise a regimen of physical activity that can help restore normal function for those who are injured, or guide elite athletes reach peak performance.
